The source of this painting was a black & white family photograph of myself as a child on the roof of our Jersey City, NJ apartment building. I was attracted to this photo because of the intensity of the sun and the extreme contrast of light and shadow it cast.
This charming portrait has special meaning for those of us who know you. It's very sweet, confident, and strong. I love the treatments of the sky and rooftop.
